Bones's Story: Bones came to us after we received a frantic call from a concerned shelter volunteer. "The dog has no teeth and is starving to death!" Poor Bones had been slowly starving over the two months he spent in the Inland Empire Shelter. As his name implies he was nothing but a sack of bones. To top it off he was suffering from a sever respiratory infection and intestinal virus. He was so under weight I doubted he had the strength to recover. Four days after coming into our care Bones disappeared while his foster mom was at work. Hundreds of flyers were distributed, posters were hung, lost dog ads were placed and shelters checked. He flat disappeared into thin air. Due to his poor condition we feared he'd crawled under a bush somewhere and died. Miracles do happen! Five weeks later the call we'd been waiting for came. "We have your dog!" I was ecstatic and Bones had found a guardian angel. Bones was by far the sweetest Boston I've ever met. Dog and cat friendly, housebroken and affectionate. This was the perfect dog. So, who could ask for more? Well, he was returned within a matter of days by the first two homes that adopted him. Each day I fell more and more in love with Bones. I feared if we didn't find him a home soon I wouldn't be able to give him up again. A wonderful elderly gentleman in Escondido adopted Lucy from us two years earlier. She had just gone to the bridge and he needed Bones to help heal his broken heart. Bones is now his constant companion rarely venturing more than a few feet away. For Bones his third home was the right home.
Sadly for Sandy and poor Bones fate stepped in once again to chage life for them both. Poor Sandy took a very bad fall and had to be admitted to a nursing home. Everyone hoped that after some recovery time that he would be able to once again go home and he and Bones would return to a normal life, but that was not to be. Sandy cannot go home, and Bones is once again looking for his forever home. He is such a sweet and loving boy and misses Sandy so. He really deserves and needs his new forever home.
